Outreach Forester Position Now Open
The Manistee Conservation District is seeking an Outreach Forester to coordinate Manistee’s Forestry Assistance Program (FAP). The purpose of the FAP is to provide private landowners with technical assistance regarding forestry, wildlife habitat, and related natural resource concerns, so that they are able to make informed decisions and implement sound strategies related to the use and management of their forestlands. This is an annually-renewed, FAP grant funded position with a wage range of $40,000 - $45,000 (depending on experience), including a benefit contribution. Whether you need an agricultural management plan, help with erosion control or invasive species, habitat restoration, advice on forestland management, groundwater testing, improved pollinator habitats, or household hazardous waste disposal, the Manistee Conservation District works for you. A sincere and heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who helped with our millage campaign, from the people who staffed the Farmer's Market booth this summer to those who devoted their time to making last-minute phone calls prior to voting day, our gratitude cannot be overstated.
