Located just south of Bear Lake, the Manistee Conservation District has been serving Manistee County since 1945, connecting private landowners to numerous services, information, access to government programs and technical land-management assistance. Our monthly Board of Directors meetings are open to the public, and all are welcome to attend. We also welcome volunteers to assist with our annual meetings, Household Hazardous Waste program, annual tree sales, water testing, and other events. Notice of Annual Meeting and Board Election
Notice is hereby given that on December 18th, 2014, the Manistee Conservation District will hold its annual meeting and board of director’s election.
Those interested in running for a position on the Board of Directors must file a petition of intention to run by no later than October 18th. Petitions can be picked up at the MCD office in Bear Lake or emailed. To request a petition, please call or email the district (firstname.lastname@example.org) between 9 am and 4:30 pm M-F. Petitions will need to be completed and then signed by 5 separate residents of Manistee County, residents being those who can demonstrate residency in Manistee County with one valid piece of identification.
Beginning on November 11, 2014, 45 days prior to the date of the annual meeting, Manistee residents wishing to cast a vote can do so by writing to or calling the Conservation District Office in Bear Lake, 231-889-9666 during the regular business hours of the District . Absentee ballots will be available.
